Pakistan is the 6th most crowded nation on the planet with more than 22 crore people according to world's meter . After the autonomy of Pakistan (August 1947), the Punjab University was the first institute to build up a three-year single program called B-pharm in 1948 which was reached out to four years in 1978-1979. In 2003, a stage towards further change was seen when the Higher education Commission (HEC) redesigned its B-Pharm program to a five-year Specialist PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) program. Right now the Pakistani PharmD program is confronting various issues which are going about as an obstacle to pharmacists and the foundation of practice as a profession.
